Black Ops 2's 4th DLC: Apocalypse and Origins

Just watch the video first. Please. This map pack has so much amazing shit in it, I'm just going to lose my mind.

Here it is everyone...
The moment we've all been waiting for:
Origins.

So...the low-down.

Treyarch is giving us something that will give us a real kick in the ass before they go, and it looks just downright gorgeous. As in the earlier DLCs, there will be 4 multiplayer maps, and 1 massive zombies map.

Multiplayer maps:

Pod is based off of a 70s Utopian community that was shut down during the building process. This map features many small buildings, all within very close contact. In some places you will even have the ability to jump from one building to another for close combat, wherein roads leave room for medium to long range combat, where hopefully not too many people will be camping.

Frost is a town in Amsterdam, and looks like a great map for games like Capture the Flag. The two sides of the town are very clear cut, having a frozen river straight through it. Each side will hold it's own against the other while they try as hard as possible to assault the enemy's spawn points, while some people may just slip underneath the bridge and up the other side from behind..

Takeoff is a floating launch platform out in the middle of the ocean. But some of us old timers might remember it as the Black Ops 1 favorite, Stadium. The map has some nice roof top spots, windows, balconies, and long hallways. A perfect blend of distance and strategy.

Dig is my personal favorite, and I'm sure some much older fans of the series will love this map. Dig is based off of the multiplayer map from Call of Duty: World at War, Courtyard. This map was very open, had short walls and paths and dug outs all around, making it a psychotic mix of close range to long range and back to close again. This map will most definitely be a massive amount of fun.

Origins...where the zombie apocalypse all begins. This is where the crew gets together. Where the zombies reign. But this is not the beginning I imagined..

This is where the original crew meets, and where their long, agonizing journey through swamps, factories, launch facilities, (and finally, the Moon) begins. Welcome back, guys!

This map is based off of WW1 trench warfare.

Lots of paths, bunkers, and spikes that line the trenches. Making it narrow in some areas, but when you go up and out...you're in no man's land.

This map is the biggest yet, not just out, but up. Giant metal men walk over the trenches like a child stomping ant hills.

They'll either be a hazard..or if you're smart, you can use them to your advantage. These men are huge. It is unknown as of late whether you can go inside of them, but they are certainly are big enough. Being stepped on by one of these will not be fun. But then again, zombies can't really hold up against it either, can they?

The weather in this map is dynamic, meaning that it will be constantly changing. You'll have games where you fight through the mud and rain, trying not to fall into a deep red puddle of dirt and corpses. Then some games you might have nice snow fall from the sky, which will soon come down to become brown and red from the dirt and zombies. Some games you might just get a little bit of fog. Either way, the game is designed to change then and there, to make it deeper, more real, and more dangerous.

Some of us liked the bus from Tranzit, right? Plowing right over the hordes, safely taking you destination to destination while giving you at least a little time to breathe and think of a game plan. Well, what's cooler than a bus? A fucking tank.

That's right, you can ride it. And shoot from it. And you know. Ride it. Did I already say that?

Along with all this amazing stuff, Treyarch has throw in more goodies! (IKR, MORE?)
Two new WW1 themed guns.

The Mg08, which was a machine gun used during that era. Treyarch seems to have had a lot of fun giving us lots of LMGs this game. Take a look at this.

And then, for a brand-new starting gun, we get the Mauser CXS!

An all new LMG, and for the first time, a new starting pistol!

Treyarch has given no information on a new Wondergun, but we're pretty sure there will be one. Treyarch is just holding out on us. Saving the good stuff for when we finally play!

There is also the issue of...more metal men. Sure, there are already giant ones walking about on the map. But. There are smaller ones. Controlled by goddamn zombies.

No doubt these are the boss zombies. No doubt we are totally screwed. I think I'll start Pack-A-Punching the RPG more often. That is one thick suit. Oh, and it's got pincer-saw arms. So you know. That's totally practical and safe. I guess if we get a tank, the old crew, and some sickly new guns we need something big to fight, am I right?

Apocalypse comes out August 27th everyone! Might want to call in sick ahead of time everybody...this is going to be a good one. More information as it comes! Like, Follow, and Subscribe!
